The Helen Woodward Animal Center kicked off the IAMS Home for the Holidays pet adoption event Monday on the steps of the County Administration building. Their goal is to find homes for 1.5 million pets worldwide in time for the holiday season. Supervisor Pam Slater-Price spoke, and several representatives from participating animal rescue or adoption organizations brought out their favorite critters for the kick-off announcement.

The 20th Annual Walk with the Suffering Good Friday Stations of the Cross was conducted with the help of students from St. Augustine High School and Our Lady of Peace. The three-hour walk around downtown commemorates Jesus' walk to Calvary, stopping to reenact each of the stations of the cross.
