Niko Cortez scored twice in the fourth quarter and then the Longhorns held on until Jake Stone’s interception with 43 seconds left to play preserved a 36-34 victory over Escondido on Friday night. Surf contests in Oceanside
The Oceanside Longboard Surfing Club hosted their 27th. Annual Contest and Beach Festival at the Oceanside Pier Saturday, August 11th with the event continuing Sunday. Little League Drought
Fewer kids are signing up this year for Little League in Poway and other nearby communities. Speculation is it's a result of fewer young families moving to the area, the growing popularity of other sports such as lacrosse and rugby, and the economy. On chilly Wednesday evening, 2/29/2012, the Poway National Minor A Division Pirates and Mets played a close game, the league's second game of the season. The Mets came out on top, 10 to 9.
