Opening Day at the Allied Gardens Little League was Feb. 25, 2012, with many teams suiting up for the ceremony and some actually playing baseball. The league founded in 1957, is one of the first leagues in the county to open their baseball season and plays on three fields on Old Cliffs Road in Allied Gardens. Naval Station San Diego, CA 9/11/2012 -About 280 enlisted personnel and officers returned to Naval Station San Diego Tuesday aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS Milius after an eight-month deployment. The 505-foot vessel, an Arleigh Burke guided missile destroyer, departed San Diego in early January and spent the past eight months in the western Pacific Ocean and Middle East, according to Naval Surface Forces Public Affairs Office.
